Beginning in May 1968, a period of civil unrest took place throughout France. In its aftermath, the Mouvement de libération des femmes (Women’s Liberation Movement, MLF) emerged, with women advocating for the right of autonomy from their husbands as well as the rights to contraception and abortion. Vive la libération!
