All-Male Panel Failed to Pass Maryland Law Barring Rapists’ Parental Rights

By: Kate Samuelson An all-male panel in Maryland has failed to pass the Rape Survivor Family Protection Act, a piece of legislation that would have allowed women who have children from rape to block rapists’ parental rights. Maryland delegate Kathleen Dumais introduced the legislation to protect women. The panel reportedly ran out of time on the last day of the state’s General Assembly and let the legislation fall by the wayside.
